Life last week had a lot of sweets, per usual 😉 I started off making content for some of the sprinkle mixes that were new to Sprinkle Pop. I had to show the one below because it’s SO CUTE. It’s called “Pink Sprinkle Cookie” and I posted the recipe for Instagram subscribers. I’ll be adding it to my weekly email and you can sign up here!
I also announced this month’s Bake-Along recipe: Cookies n Cream Cupcakes! You can find the details here, but give these a try, they’re always such a hit.
Weekly highlights- my daughter and I ate at a local restaurant and then stopped by Kelly’s Homemade Ice Cream in Oviedo. Walking into that shop smells like heaven. We got two different combos- chocolate with nuts and a double scoop of Cookie Monster and Dunkaroos. Omigoodness, the double scoop was mind blowing. Their cookie monster tastes like a sweet cream Oreo blend and the dunkaroos had chunks of cookies in it. I could eat this every day for the rest of my life.
For Cinco de Mayo, we made a taco recipe from Well Plated. They were incredible, I always love her content. For dessert we went with Dulce de Leche ice cream and I’m a sucker for caramel, so it was perfection. My daughter was in charge of the game and we did pin the sombrero on the donkey. She drew it herself. Sadly I lost because I thought we were doing a tail-thing. I was wrong.
I FINALLY made it to Tron at the Magic Kingdom. They have a virtual queue so it’s pretty tricky to get a time slot, it fills up fast. The ride itself was amazing to look at. I’ll be honest, it was a little tricky figuring out how to get into this, motorcycle? I’ve never seen the movie so perhaps the concept is lost on me.
The ride was really good- short, but a super fast beginning and a nice amount of twists and turns. Only thing is that you’re pressed down into the ride/coaster so it’s hard to look up at the details. My neck hurt a lot from straining to see, but the young people didn’t seem to care, lol.
Nothing makes me happier than themed food. Tron has it’s own little booth and everything sounded pretty tasty. I didn’t get to try anything this time, but next time I’m coming straight for the donut holes.
We wound up eating at Cosmic Rays in Tomorrowland. I got chicken nuggets, but we also tried their burger with cola BBQ sauce…not bad. What was horrible though was this cupcake from Cheshire Cafe. It’s so so pretty but the flavor was gross. The cake base was good- sprinkle cake, which I love. BUT the frosting was tea infused. No no no, not good. Definitely not kid-friendly either.
The Sully Slushee was great though. It actually matched the photo advertising it with the pretty purple markings. The flavor itself was blue raspberry which was perfect for a hot day. And it was huge!
The Main Street Confectionery was all decked out for Mother’s Day. They had so many pink treats, I wish I could have tried one of each!
I rounded out the week with more content photos. For the new Kawaii Sushi mix, I made Ho Ho sushi and added green whipped cream like wasabi. I’ll add the breakdown to social media this week, but it’s more of a fun idea and less of a recipe. Hope everyone has a wonderful day!
