New Year’s is only a couple days away, but good news…this dessert is AMAZING year round. If you haven’t had toffee bark, it’s sweet and salty and absolutely addicting. This time, I subbed pretzel thins for the traditional crackers. The salty crunch of the pretzels mixed with the rich sweetness of toffee and chocolate is beyond words. I swirled dark and white chocolate, but feel free to use any flavor that you like best!
THE STORY: I love love love this salty sweet toffee recipe…now some people call it Christmas Crack, some call it Cracker Candy, but I named it Pretzel Toffee Bark. Honestly, the name doesn’t matter because it is so ridiculously good. I’ve made this so many times over the past decade, but last year I saw someone on Instagram use pretzel thins as the base, so I had to try it! The salty-sweet combo was perfection.
TIPS: Pour the caramel/toffee part SLOWLY and be sure to cover the pretzels evenly. It’s hard to spread if you just plop all of the mixture down in one place. (I made this mistake 😬). Same goes for the chocolate. If you try to get an even drizzle, it’ll be easier to spread!
SPRINKLE OF CREATIVITY: I used dark and white chocolate, but feel free to try out milk! Instead of glitter, top it with sprinkles, mini M&Ms, or crushed nuts!
