Oreo is handing the ultimate cookie vote over to fans with three brand-new limited-edition flavors. Oreo Chicken & Waffles, Oreo Banana Pudding and Oreo Deep Fried Cookies are all arriving at the same time, but only one will earn a return appearance. I tried all three, and I had a definite favorite, but I was also surprised about another flavor that was NOT expecting to like.

Oreo has released tons of creative flavors over the years, but this launch adds a new twist. Instead of choosing which limited-edition cookie comes back, the brand is leaving the decision up to Oreo fans.
Voting will be open from August 17 through October 12 at Oreo.com/twist-lick-vote. Presale pack and TikTok Shop recipients will receive exclusive early access to taste all three flavors before choosing their favorite. As an extra sweet bonus, every eligible vote automatically enters the voter for a chance to win a year’s supply of original Oreo cookies. The flavor selected will not affect the sweepstakes entry, and there is a limit of one entry per person.

I was extremely skeptical about Oreo Chicken & Waffles Cookies. I have tried a few chicken-and-waffle-flavored snacks before, and they were awful. (Ahem, KFC jellybeans). There is a very fine line between fun and disgusting. Oreo stayed on the right side of it, thank goodness.
These cookies have a waffle-textured design and two layers of creme infused with sweet and savory flavors. The creme had a noticeable maple flavor, while the cookie tasted sweet and vanilla-forward, almost like a waffle.
Then there was a small hit of seasoning. I couldn’t decide if it came from the cookie or one of the creme layers, but it reminded me a little of poultry seasoning. That sounds questionable, yet it worked surprisingly well with the maple and vanilla flavors.
Everyone who tried this one loved it, and we were all surprised. It still tasted like a sweet cookie, but that little savory punch made it completely different from anything else in the Oreo lineup. I expected it to be the strange novelty flavor of the group, but it turned out to be a serious contender.

Oreo Banana Pudding Cookies were my favorite of the three, and it was not even close. Oreo absolutely knocked it out of the ballpark with this one.
The cookies feature vanilla wafers filled with a double layer of banana- and vanilla-pudding-flavored creme. You can clearly taste both the vanilla and banana, and together they really do recreate the flavor of banana pudding.
The banana flavor is strong enough that you instantly know what you are eating. The vanilla wafer cookies also help give it that classic banana pudding taste instead of making it like a regular Oreo with banana filling.
We dunked these cookies in milk, and they were heaven. The wafer softened, the filling became even creamier and the whole thing tasted like a tiny banana pudding dessert. These were easily a 10/10 for me, and I would happily keep a package in the pantry at all times.
If I could vote immediately after the taste test, Oreo Banana Pudding would get mine without a second thought.

Oreo Deep Fried Cookies are based on the deep-fried sandwich cookies that you find at state fairs.
These feature fried dough-flavored cookies with layers of dark chocolate and fried dough-flavored creme. At first, I mostly tasted a sandwich cookie with a creamy chocolate filling. I didn’t immediately get the fried flavor that I was expecting.
It became a bit more noticeable in the aftertaste. I picked up the doughy effect Oreo was going for. It did have a subtle fried-dough flavor, but it was not quite as bold or recognizable as the banana pudding and chicken-and-waffle flavors.
This was definitely still a good Oreo. It just couldn’t compete with the other two, which were extremely creative and well executed.
If you see these limited-edition Oreo flavors, get them while you can. Even if chicken and waffles in cookie form sounds slightly outside-the-box, that is part of the fun.
Buy all three, set out some glasses of milk and have everyone rank them before casting a vote.
Chocolate sprinkle cookies are the base for mini ice cream sundaes with all the fun toppings.
