Holiday Popcorn Balls

I made these last year and they were SUCH a hit. I didn’t get a great photo, but I wanted to post the actual recipe because they’re such a holiday favorite. I recommend eating them right away because things like this tend to get stale fast…but also because they’re THAT GOOD 😉
Holiday Popcorn Balls
Ingredients
INGREDIENTS
2- 3.2 oz bags of microwave popcorn
¼ c light corn syrup
¼ c margarine (you can use butter if you don’t have it)
2 tsp cold water
2 ½ cups powdered sugar
1 c marshmallows
M&Ms and sprinkles, if desired
Instructions
INSTRUCTIONS
• Pop both bags of popcorn and place into a large bowl
• In a small pot over medium heat, combine corn syrup, margarine, water, sugar, and marshmallows. Stir until completely melted and let it come to a boil.
• Pour the mixture over the popcorn and coat each piece. Add in the candies and stir. (I split mine into two batches so that it would mix easier).
• Grease your hands and shape the popcorn mixture into balls.
• Wrap or store in an airtight container at room temperature BUT i suggest eating them right away, even when given as a gift (see below)
• Optional- place each ball into a cellophane bag and tie it with a ribbon. Pair with other treats in a holiday gift box.

I haven’t tried it, but I personally love skinny or unsalted/unbuttered popcorn! I think it would be awesome 🙂

How many popcorn balls will this recipe make?
It depends on how big you make them…my daughter helped me in the original video and they were so different, ha!! Are you planning on eating them all at once? They get stale fairly quickly, so I’d suggest making two different batches if not 🙂
