Funfetti Oreos are probably one of the most exciting things I’ve created on my page 😂 I worked for a chocolate factory for a long long long time, and I have probably seen 100,000 chocolate-covered Oreos go out the door. When I started making them on my own, I thought hmmm bet it would look really cute to add sprinkles to these. So, voila! Funfetti Oreos were born. These are a Halloween theme, but the tutorial below can work for any holiday combo.
Melt the chocolate according the package directions. I usually do 1 min and 30 seconds, stirring after each 30 second interval.
Once melted, stir in the nonpareils. Use as many as you like, but I use about 1/4 c for the whole bag.
Pour the chocolate into each mold cavity, filling about halfway.
Press an Oreo into the chocolate, without pushing it all the way to the bottom.
Repeat until the mold is filled and then tap on a flat surface a couple of times. Add more chocolate to each mold cavity filling them to the top. Tap again until all of the air bubbles are out.
If needed, use an offset spatula to flatten the backs of each Oreo (scrape off any excess chocolate.)
Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
Flip the mold over and lightly press each Oreo out onto a cutting board or parchment paper. If needed press your thumb to the back of each mold so that the heat from your finger releases the chocolate.
Melt a little more white chocolate and “glue” the sugar decorations to the smooth side of each Oreo. Let set for about 15 minutes.
