Current Favorites: All Things 80’s Summer

I am beyond excited because my seasonal theme this year is 80’s Summer. So I’ve rounded up some of my favorite finds inspired by the decade. There’s a little bit of everything here all inspired by summer + one of my favorite eras. If you lived through the 80s or just wish you had, I think you’ll find something fun here.

If you’re throwing an 80’s party, I’m showing up

I feel like if you’re serving food, if nothing else, you should have fun napkins. These came with a ton, so be prepared to have a lot of snacks and sweets.

There’s a shirt for every theme

I don’t spend a ton of money on clothes. You won’t find me in any expensive stores, but I do love a good inexpensive themed t-shirt. I wear a bunch on social media, and I love them because they are just fun. And who doesn’t need more fun?

I could watch this movie 100 times (maybe I have)

Oh, if you haven’t seen this classic with Sarah Jessica Parker and Helen Hunt, you are missing out. It’s all about big hair, dance contests, and the token popular boy.

Perfume that smells exactly like an 80’s summer

I was so surprised the first time I smelled “Vacation” by Vacation. It is exactly the scent that I would associate with summer as a kid. A bit like sun tan lotion but with a pop of perfume scene that’s straight out of the decade.

I work from home, but I’d still buy this lunchbox

The colors, the font, the fabric…the could not fit the theme better. I love these shades even now because I obviously like all things bright and colorful.

Let’s hang out at the beach

Perfect for walking around the boardwalk at the beach, this is the set of my dreams. It’s casual, comfortable, and looks like what an extra would wear on Miami Vice.

Girl Talk is still one of the best games of all time

You have no idea how excited I was every time my friends would play this game. It felt SO grown up and teenager-y. I can’t believe it’s still around. I am totally playing it with my daughter.

All you need is a pool float

There’s nothing like hanging out by the pool on a hot summer day. Add in a 80’s pool float and play list and you’ve got yourself the ultimate throwback afternoon.

I am one of those people that misses the videos on MTV

Truth be told, I’m not a big reality tv fan. I didn’t love the new programming on MTV, but back in the day it was fantastic- all day music videos. These towels are a tribute to their best years.
