Alani Nu is ready for spooky season!

Alani Nu brought back its cult-favorite Witch’s Brew and added a brand-new vanilla energy drink with way less caffeine.

I am a huge fan of seasonal food and drinks and love seeing the creativity brands come up with this time of year. Apple, pumpkin, and maple start popping up everywhere, and they are all such great flavors to work with. Alani Nu’s fall lineup is back with a few seasonal options of its own, and this year Witch’s Brew isn’t celebrating alone. The fan-favorite flavor has returned alongside two new limited-edition releases, Ruby Apple and Voodoo Vanilla. I got to try Witch’s Brew and Voodoo Vanilla, and I can already tell you that Alani Nu absolutely nailed fall.

A little about Alani Nu

Alani Nu has become one of those brands that is almost impossible to miss in the energy drink aisle, especially if you like fun flavors. The company launched in 2018 and built a huge following around colorful energy drinks, supplements and other wellness products. What has always stood out to me most is the flavor lineup. They do not stick to basic lemon, berry and orange. There is usually something a little more creative going on, which is probably why their limited-edition releases get so much attention.

Witch’s Brew is a perfect example. It first came out in 2021 and has turned into one of Alani Nu’s most anticipated seasonal flavors. At this point, seeing it come back feels a little like the unofficial start of fall.

This year, Alani Nu expanded the idea into more of a full seasonal collection. Witch’s Brew is back, Ruby Apple joins it in the Potion Pack variety pack, and Voodoo Vanilla is completely new.

Witch’s Brew

I had Witch’s Brew before this review, so this one was not new to me. I already knew I liked it, and trying it again reminded me exactly why.

The tart green apple flavor hits first. It is bright, strong, and definitely on the sour side, but then the sweeter caramel flavor comes through at the end. What I really like is that the caramel does not make the drink feel heavy or overly sweet. It lingers more like a bittersweet caramel finish.

It tastes like a caramel apple turned into a fizzy energy drink, but the focus stays on that tart apple flavor. If you already like sour apple candy or caramel apples, this one is an easy recommendation. 

Voodoo Vanilla

I had Witch’s Brew before this review, so this one was not new to me. I already knew I liked it, and trying it again reminded me exactly why.

The fall lineup is bigger this year

Along with Witch’s Brew and Voodoo Vanilla, Alani Nu also introduced Ruby Apple. Ruby Apple is a candy apple-style flavor that combines crisp red apple with a caramel finish. It is available in the Potion Pack variety pack alongside Witch’s Brew. Each 12-ounce can has 200 milligrams of caffeine and 15 calories.

All of the Alani Nu Energy drinks in the collection are zero sugar, vegan and gluten-free. The brand also notes that its energy drinks are not recommended for children under 18, anyone sensitive to caffeine, or women who are pregnant or nursing.

Would I buy them again?

Absolutely. Witch’s Brew already had me sold. The tart green apple and caramel combination is still one of the better fall energy drink flavors I have tried. 

Voodoo Vanilla is another that I’ll buy all season. The cream soda-meets-vanilla flavor is fantastic, and the lower caffeine level is a huge plus for me. I would love to see Alani Nu do more flavors in this format.

I love a good seasonal product, especially when the flavor actually matches the fun packaging, and Alani Nu totally crushed it.
