The Recipe Rundown

Chocolate Is Kind of My Thing

As I’ve mentioned before, I worked in a chocolate factory for 13 years—so dressing up chocolate treats is SO FUN for me. Honestly, I love giving everything a little glow-up, and these strawberries are no exception.

The Valentine’s Day Glow-Up

I wanted these berries to have that extra Valentine’s Day sparkle, so I gave them a little makeover. Enter: edible pink glitter dust. This used to be kind of tricky to find, but now? It’s everywhere—Walmart, Michaels, baking supply stores. If you’re feeling fancy, grab a pump and get spraying. It makes everything look ✨magical ✨.

Love-berries in Action

For an extra Valentine’s touch, I added the cutest royal icing hearts. These are made by my friend Rebecca over at Roses and Whiskers—she’s seriously so talented. I hope you check out her shop! She also makes the most adorable seasonal sprinkles (you know I love themed sprinkles), and these hearts even have a little glittery sparkle. Basically, her stuff = instant dessert upgrade.

Everyone Loves Chocolate-Covered Strawberries

I’ve found that even people who say they don’t love dessert will happily grab a chocolate-covered strawberry. And if white chocolate is too sweet for those folks, swap it for dark! It’s just as delicious and gives a really rich flavor.

FAQ

Q: How far in advance can I make chocolate-covered strawberries?
A: These berries are best enjoyed fresh, but you can make them up to 24 hours ahead. Store them in the fridge, uncovered or loosely covered, to avoid condensation.

Q: Can I use a different type of chocolate?
A: Absolutely! Milk, dark, or even pink melts work perfectly. Mix and match too!

Q: Why is my chocolate sliding off the strawberries?
A: Make sure your strawberries are completely dry before dipping. Also, let the melted chocolate cool slightly—it should be smooth and warm, not too hot, so it clings nicely.

Q: Where can I find edible glitter and royal icing hearts?
A: Most baking supply stores, craft stores, or online retailers like Amazon have them. You can also swap in heart sprinkles or mini candy hearts if you prefer. I got my hearts here!

Q: How should I store leftovers?
A: If you manage not to eat them all (impressive!), store them in the fridge for 1–2 days. They may sweat a little but will still taste delicious!

Sprinkle of Fun

Now, let’s sprinkle some fun! I love bringing treats to friends and family, but there’s something extra fun about sharing them with co-workers. If you’re able, pack a few snacks—or even a mini charcuterie board with heart-shaped cheese and plenty of crackers. Serve these strawberries as a sweet little dessert, and you’ll be the hit of the office!

• Author: Taryn Camp

Ingredients

Scale 1x2x3x

• 1 pint of fresh red strawberries (or about 1 pound – look for the juiciest ones!)
• 1 package Ghirardelli White Melting Wafers
• Edible pink glitter dust
• Royal icing mini hearts

Instructions

1. Wash and gently pat your strawberries completely dry—moisture is the enemy of chocolate sticking! Set them aside.
2. Follow the instructions on the package, melting the wafers in 30-second bursts in the microwave, stirring in between each. Once smooth, let the chocolate cool slightly. (Tip: If it’s too hot, it’ll slide right off the berries—you want it to cling!)
3. Line a tray with parchment paper. Dip each strawberry into the melted chocolate, covering about ¾ of the berry. If needed, use a skewer or a couple of toothpicks to hold them. Gently shake it side to side to let the excess drip off. Place it on the tray and repeat with the rest. Set aside any leftover white chocolate.
4. Pop the tray in the fridge until the chocolate is completely set (about 15–20 minutes).
5. Once set, lightly spray the strawberries with edible glitter dust for that extra sparkle.
6. Re-melt your leftover white chocolate. Dab a small amount on the back of each royal icing heart and press it onto a berry—like edible “glue.” Repeat until every berry is dressed to impress!
7. Serve them up and save a few for yourself.
