I had never heard of this brand before, but I’m so glad I gave them a try! Grenade is a UK-born performance nutrition brand known for making protein bars feel a little more like a treat. They have officially launched in the United States, and the expansion brings four of the brand’s protein bars stateside: OREO, OREO White, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, and Chocolate Chip Salted Caramel.
What makes Grenade interesting is that the bars are designed to feel more indulgent than the typical protein snack. Each flavor has multiple layers, coatings, and mix-ins, with the bars combining things like nougat, caramel, chocolate chips, and even real OREO pieces.
I was sent all four flavors to try, and I absolutely loved them.

The OREO Protein Bar is made with real OREO pieces, which is awesome. Grenade calls it the world’s first official OREO protein bar, and each bar packs 21 grams of protein while still keeping the sugar low.
I liked both the texture and flavor. I’ve tried other OREO protein bars that had a chalkier taste, but I didn’t get that with this one. The actual cookie pieces also help bring in that familiar OREO flavor.

OREO White takes the same idea and gives it a white chocolate twist. The bar is also made with real OREO pieces and contains more than 20 grams of protein with less than 2 grams of sugar.
Normally, white chocolate is not my first choice. I usually find it much sweeter than regular chocolate, especially in bars and candy. This one was an exception. The white chocolate flavor was creamy without becoming overly sweet, and I actually preferred it to the regular OREO bar.
The Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough bar had one of my favorite textures. The chocolate chips on top added a nice crunch, which helped break up the softer and chewier layers underneath.
It is made with cookie dough-flavored nougat, gooey caramel, chocolate chips, and a milk chocolate coating. Each bar also contains 21 grams of protein and only 1.4 grams of sugar.
Flavor-wise, this one tasted a little more like a traditional protein bar to me than the OREO varieties. There was more of that healthier-taste in the background, but it was still enjoyable. The chocolate chip crunch was definitely the best part.

Chocolate Chip Salted Caramel combines sweet nougat, salted caramel, chocolate chips, and chocolate in one layered bar. It contains 20 grams of protein and 1.4 grams of sugar, and Grenade describes it as one of the brand’s best-selling flavors.
This bar had a good flavor, but the texture was the biggest thing I noticed. It was very chewy, and I felt like I had to keep chewing it for much longer than the others, which made it my least favorite texture of the group.
The aftertaste was actually really good, though. The chocolate and salted caramel flavor lingered nicely once I got past the chewiness.

Grenade’s U.S. launch gives shoppers four very different ways to try the brand, which is super exciting.
There is a lot of variety across the lineup, especially when it comes to texture. After trying all four, I can see why Grenade has built such a following overseas. I’d definitely order the Oreo flavors again!
