Hey! I'm Taryn. Welcome to our blog. I cant wait to help you sprinkle a little fun into your kitchen.
Welcome!
This past weekend, we continued our hunt to see as many Disney trees as possible and get the matching pin! We chose Pop Century Hotel and the Caribbean Beach Resort. We haded to the Caribbean first, and I thought the tree was so super cute. It was really bright and colorful…perfectly tropical. The pin for that hotel was a Disney stocking with pirate Mickey popping out!
While we were there, we decided to try one of their seasonal desserts. It was a peppermint blondie and this is the description- A chocolate chip and peppermint blondie topped with brown butter chocolate mousse, vanilla bean whipped cream, and white chocolate. It wasn’t bad, it just tastes like straight peppermint. You taste nothing else. I would have loved to get the true flavor of the brown butter mousse. Maybe I’ll just make it myself!
Next we got back on the Skyliner and headed to Pop Century. The picture of the cupcake is a bit blurry, but it doesn’t matter because it wasn’t good lol. For me, the issue with most of their cupcakes is that they come ice cold. The icing was like a rock. I let it sit for a half hour, but it was still super cold. It’s hard to cut through and you can’t really get the taste. Might have been better eating it the next day. I really wish they would cycle them and leave some out to be room temp. The cupcake description is- “Deer Holly Day Cupcake” a chocolate cupcake with a chocolate ganace filling and peanut butter-cream cheese buttercream. Again this tasted like none of that. Just a dark chocolate cake with a lot of cold stuff.
The pin was really cute though! It has the same stocking as before, but Roger Rabbit was in this one. He’s one of my all time favorite characters…very 90’s.
That’s all of the excitement for this week! Hope everyone is having a great season so far 🙂
