FAQ

Can I make this the night before?

Yes. It actually tastes better after chilling overnight because the cookies soften into cake-like layers.

Do I have to use Firecracker Pop Oreos?

You can substitute Golden Oreos if needed, but the Firecracker Pop version gives the dessert its fun summer flavor twist.

Can I freeze this dessert?

You can freeze it for a firmer frozen-dessert texture, but the filling stays creamiest when refrigerated.

How long does this last in the refrigerator?

It stays fresh covered in the refrigerator for about 3 days.

Can I use fresh berries instead of preserves?

You can, but the preserves create more flavor throughout the layers and help give the dessert that swirled look.

Bring this to a Fourth of July backyard cookout and serve it cold after dinner while everybody hangs outside waiting for fireworks to start. The colorful layers look so fun once you slice into it.
