There are some restaurants that you drive by and just never think to visit. No real reason why. But let me tell you, I’ve been missing out with Firebirds. This is now officially one of my go-to restaurant spots in Orlando.
It’s located at Market at Mills Park in Orlando and known for its scratch kitchen, hand-cut steaks, seafood, cocktails, and upscale steakhouse atmosphere. The good thing is that it doesn’t have the outrageous steakhouse prices. Firebirds has built a loyal following thanks to its wood-fired cooking style, bold flavors, and menu that somehow seems fancy and approachable at the same time.
I rarely write a restaurant review where I genuinely loved everything I tried. Usually there’s at least one thing that feels forgettable or just “eh”. This was one of those very rare exceptions where every single course was a hit. The service was phenomenal, the atmosphere felt warm and inviting without being stuffy, and every dish came out beautifully prepared. It honestly felt like the kind of place that works for almost everything- family dinners, date nights, celebrations, or even just a random Tuesday when you want a really good meal.

We started with the Double Black Diamond Martini®, and this drink alone made me understand why people love sitting at the FIREBAR®.
Made with fresh pineapple and New Amsterdam® Pineapple Vodka, this cocktail tasted incredibly clean and fresh instead of overly sugary or artificial. Sometimes pineapple drinks can lean syrupy or almost candy-like, but this one tasted bright, smooth, and refreshing. The pineapple flavor actually tasted real. It had a slightly effervescent finish that made it feel lighter than expected, and honestly, I would order this again immediately.
If you enjoy tropical cocktails but want something that still feels elevated and super smooth, this one absolutely delivers.

I truly cannot stop thinking about the Lobster Spinach Queso. This appetizer came loaded with substantial chunks of lobster, spinach, pepper jack cheese, and crisp tortilla chips, and they absolutely did not skimp on the lobster. That’s usually where restaurants cut corners, but not here. Every bite had actual pieces of lobster throughout the queso instead of tiny scattered bits.
The queso itself was warm, creamy, and the perfect consistency for dipping. It was not too thick and not watery. Just rich, cheesy comfort food with a seafood twist that was so unique. Honestly, I could eat this every day and not get tired of it.
Then came the Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls, which were another absolute hit. These were crispy on the outside with a filling that actually held its own against the wrapper. You could tell the steak was freshly shredded and high quality.
The egg rolls came with Thai chili and hot mustard sauce, but our server suggested adding garlic ranch on the side and that ended up being an *elite* recommendation. The garlic ranch paired ridiculously well with the savory steak and cheese filling. The original sauces were still delicious, especially if you enjoy a mustard sauce with a little less kick, but that garlic ranch took everything over the top.

I know salad usually isn’t the thing people rave about after visiting a steakhouse, but these honestly deserve attention.
The BLT Salad was loaded with applewood-smoked bacon and tomatoes, and they absolutely did not hold back on the bacon. The ranch dressing tied everything together perfectly, and the bacon itself had that ideal balance of crisp texture and smoky flavor.
Then there was the Steakhouse Wedge, which felt like a blue cheese lover’s dream. Along with the dressing, they added fresh crumbles of high-quality blue cheese on top, which made the entire salad feel rich and flavorful.
One of my favorite little details was the crispy ranch rings layered into the salad for crunch. The candied bacon added a subtle sweetness while still keeping that smoky steakhouse flavor profile the restaurant is known for.

For my entrée, I tried the Tomahawk Pork Chop with sticky hot honey, fresh pico, charred carrots, and Southwest Au Gratin Potatoes on the side.
This pork chop was cooked perfectly- tender, flavorful, juicy, and packed with smoky grilled flavor. The sticky hot honey added a little sweetness and heat without overpowering the meat itself.
The charred carrots surprised me the most. They were unlike any carrots I’ve had before. They almost tasted like sweet glazed carrots but with a smoky charred finish that made them feel completely new- I would try to make these at home but they’re that unique. Topped with pepitas and feta cheese, they had the perfect mix of texture and flavor.
The Southwest Au Gratin Potatoes were unbelievably good. They were extra creamy, cheesy, rich, and comforting.

We also tried the Grilled Sirloin with bacon butter, Parmesan mashed potatoes, and seasonal vegetables. On top of the bacon butter, I added both garlic butter and Cajun butter, which was another stellar recommendation from our server. All three butters were incredible.
I genuinely kept switching between them because every single one brought something different to the steak. The steak itself was cooked beautifully with that classic wood-fired flavor that gives Firebirds its signature taste.
If you’re looking for a solid steak dinner in Orlando, this absolutely deserves a spot on your list.

My daughter ordered the Kids Smoked Chicken Wings with BBQ sauce and buffalo sauce on the side, and these were shockingly good.
The wings were super crispy, which is exactly how I like them, and honestly some of the best restaurant wings I’ve had in a while. The fries disappeared almost immediately. They were seasoned steak fries and almost impossible to stop eating.
I also loved that Firebirds makes families feel included instead of treating the kids menu like an afterthought. The restaurant has a Jr. Chefs Club where kids can receive birthday sundaes, special perks, emails with recipes and promotions, and even Jr. Chef T-shirts (while supplies last). It’s a fun little detail that makes the experience feel more family-friendly without losing the upscale steakhouse atmosphere.

Before dinner, the restaurant serves complimentary Panella bread, and yes, I am dedicating an entire section to bread because it was that good.
The loaf comes out warm, soft, slightly sweet, and lightly dusted with cornmeal. It has this nice yeasty flavor that feels different while still being completely kid-friendly and approachable. We loved it. There’s something about warm restaurant bread that instantly sets the tone for a meal, and this felt like the perfect start to the entire experience.
Another thing I genuinely appreciated about Firebirds is their partnership with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.
Every time someone orders fresh squeezed lemonade, Firebirds donates $1.25 to the organization to help fight childhood cancer. To date, they’ve donated more than $3.5 million, which honestly makes ordering a lemonade feel even better.
It’s always nice seeing restaurants actively support causes in a meaningful way.

For dessert, we tried the seasonal Strawberry Bread Pudding, and this was dangerously delicious.
Served warm with strawberries and topped with vanilla bean ice cream, it tasted like strawberry shortcake and bread pudding combined together. Rich, soft, sweet, and completely addicting. It was one of those desserts that has that cold and hot combo that you can’t get enough of.
Overall, Firebirds Wood Fired Grill completely blew me away. The food, service, atmosphere, drinks, and overall experience all exceeded expectations, and it instantly became one of my new favorite Orlando restaurant spots.
I already know we’ll be back soon, and honestly, I’m already craving that lobster queso again.
