We had our last staycation of the summer before the school year starts in Florida and of course we decided to stay at Disney. Yes yes, we are HUGE fans of Disney World here in Orlando…all of the theme parks actually! We stayed at Bay Lake Towers at the Contemporary Resort which is one of the newer DVC resorts. We’ve only recently had a Disney Vacation Club membership, and we love it so much! The hotel was modern, gorgeous, and incredibly convenient since you can just walk right over to Magic Kingdom.
We ate at Steakhouse 71 which was mind-blowingly good. Like truly that good. The sauce on my daughter’s plate with the steak was a red wine sauce. Literally top 3 things I’ve ever eaten in my life. The mac n cheese was also wonderful, and I got a chicken dish that I forgot to photograph. It was amazing though and had a nice crispy outside. For dessert we got this classic chocolate cake. Definitely a throwback to 80’s cakes! The filling was different layers of chocolate mousse and it was covered in chocolate ganache. Was it good? Absolutely, how could it not be?!
Then BAM, we get to the park, and it’s already Halloween season at Disney World! With Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween starting, all of the Halloween merchandise is out and there are so many cute things available this year. I always love the mini backpacks and I don’t need another, but I am a huge fan of candy corn…maybe I just have to splurge. My daughter was flipping over the Hocus Pocus merch. She loves those movies (ironically the second more than the first), so she has her eye on some things.
We stayed until the park closed and went on tons of rides, but before we left we had to check out the snacks. Low and behold, they had new candy! I wanna try those weird frogs lol.
As always, stay tuned for more Disney fun!
