Halloween marshmallows- if you can’t find these, feel free to add more mini marshmallows
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line a 13 x 9 pan with parchment paper. Make sure to leave enough over the edges so that it’s easy to pull out. Spray the pan and parchment paper with baking spray.
In a small pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Continue to cook and make sure to stir it occasionally until the butter foams and turns a deep gold-brown color. It’ll have a nutty aroma and smell SO GOOD. This should take about 5-7 minutes. Remove it from the heat and let it cool slightly.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and browned butter. Stir until it’s well combine and then add the eggs one at a time, stirring after each one. Add the vanilla and mix.
In a different bowl, whisk the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet and stir until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out mostly clean. If your oven runs a little hotter, check it at 30 minutes.
Remove the brownies from the oven and turn the oven to broil. Sprinkle the mini marshmallows ONLY over the brownies. Broil for 1-2 minutes or until toasted.
Turn the oven back to 350. Add the Halloween marshmallows to the brownies and bake for about 2-3 minutes or until they’re slightly melted.
Remove the brownies from the oven and let them cool for about 15-20 minutes. Remove the brownies from the pan, cut and serve!
These brownies will be gooey when served warm after 15 minutes. If you’d like a more set texture, wait until they’ve cooled to room temp.
