What a fun week of Christmas activities! We started the fun at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas. We stayed at the Wilderness Lodge Boulder Creek Resort and it’s probably one of my favorites on property. They have so many cute details in the decorations like the pillow and painting below. BONUS- they have a holiday gingerbread style booth this year. It was so cute, and I wanted to get a treat, but I knew we’d have more at the party.
Snacks first…my favorite dessert was the one we had first. It was a Reindeer Food Sundae- chocolate soft serve, pretzels, M&Ms, puppy chow, and fudge. I could have eaten ten of these 😂 Simple and classic but delicious. I think I’m a sucker for fudge.
Next came the Cosmic Rays snacks. Left to right- a sugar cookie cake that was AWFUL. Tasted like crisco and not much else. 2/10…so bad lol. Then a turkey burger topped with a stuffing patty and cranberry sauce. Truth be told, I thought I’d hate it but I was intrigued. I liked it so much more than I anticipated. I would have left off the cranberry but a solid 7/10 for me. Lastly the pot roast sandwich was amazing. Totally made up for the cake. It was cooked well and extremely taste. 9/10 for me.
We left a little early b/c we were exhausted but we spent some time towards the front of the park because it was empty. We had a whole picture area to ourselves and got to see the tree decorations close up. We walked around the fire station and realized they had Dalmatians staged throughout the whole area- who knew?! And of course, the meet and greet with Mary Poppins made her night.
Next up was a VIP tour of Universal Studio’s Grinchmas/Holiday event. I cannot say enough great things about this event. We had a tour guide named Bobby that went above and beyond, and this is SO worth the price. 5 hours of nonstop fun!! Here was the agenda:
This event was so unbelievable and it was fun to go backstage and hear about how they make it all happen!
We learned all about Earl the Squirrel and found out that there’s a replica of him hidden in the tree every year! We got some merch to commemorate our love for him 😉
That’s all for this week! Hope everything has a wonderful Thanksgiving.
