Hey! I'm Taryn. Welcome to our blog. I cant wait to sprinkle a little fun into your kitchen with you!
These chick-topped birthday cake Oreo chocolates are the ultimate spring treat—fun, festive, and super easy to make! With a sparkly purple shell, Golden Birthday Cake Oreos inside, and a cheerful yellow chocolate chick on top, they’re the kind of treat that makes everyone smile. Whether you’re making them for Easter baskets, spring parties, or just a sweet seasonal activity, this recipe is guaranteed to be a hit with both kids and adults.
These chocolate-covered Oreos have been a go-to in my dessert world for years—they’re one of those treats that are always a favorite. I still love hand-dipping them too, but using molds gives them such a clean, polished look and makes decorating super simple.
This year, I was beyond excited to find Golden Birthday Cake Oreos—they were brand new and SO delicious! I’m really hoping they stick around, because the flavor is perfect and they made these treats extra Easter-y.
To add a fun Easter touch, I made little yellow chocolate chicks to go on top of each Oreo. They’re easy to make, and you can even pop them off the cookie and eat them on their own as a little extra treat. Feel free to swap in other seasonal shapes like bunnies, flowers, or carrots—whatever you can find. I’ve picked up some great molds lately at Target and Walmart, and it’s nice how accessible they’ve become.
Once the Oreos were all set and decorated, I added them to clear cello bags and tied them with Easter-themed ribbon. They turned out so cute and make the perfect favors—whether you’re handing them out in class, adding them to Easter baskets, or passing them out on Easter day.
Can I use regular Oreos instead of Birthday Cake Oreos?
Absolutely! Any Oreo flavor will work here—just pick your favorite.
What if I don’t have the exact molds?
No problem! Use any silicone molds you have on hand. You can swap the chick mold for bunnies, flowers, or anything spring-themed.
Can I make these ahead of time?
Yes! These store great in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week. Just keep them cool so the chocolate stays firm.
Do I need to use Colour Mill food coloring?
Oil-based colors work best for chocolate, and Colour Mill is a great option. But any oil-based food coloring you like should be just fine.
Can I skip the edible glitter spray?
Of course! It just adds a fun sparkle, but the treats are still adorable without it.
These sweet little treats are the perfect activity for Easter break! Kids will love mixing the colors, popping the chocolates out of the molds, and placing those cute yellow chicks on top. It’s hands-on, super fun, and ends with a treat they’ll be so proud to share (or eat all by themselves—wink wink). Grab your aprons, turn up some springtime tunes, and turn your kitchen into a chocolatey Easter workshop.
