Pastel Party Krispies Treats

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup salted butter
  • 1 (10 oz) bag mini marshmallows
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal- I used the Springtime version with green and blue cereal colors
  • 1 cup crushed
  • Cadbury Mini Eggs
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup pastel sprinkles + extra for topping
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat until golden brown and nutty. Try to use a light-colored saucepan so you can see the color change.
  2. Once melted, it’ll start to foam—stir or swirl the pan gently.
  3. You’ll see golden bits form at the bottom (those are the toasty milk solids!) and smell a nutty, caramel scent—this means it’s browned.
  4. As soon as it turns amber with little brown flecks, turn the heat to low immediately to avoid burning.
  5. Stir in marshmallows, melting completely, then add vanilla.
  6. Remove from the heat and fold in Rice Krispies, Cadbury Mini Eggs, sprinkles and white chocolate chips.
  7. Press into a parchment-lined 9×9- inch pan. Sprinkle with sea salt and extra sprinkles.
  8. Let it set before slicing into squares.
