Our first trip to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween this year was a COMPLETE hit! As soon as Hayley and I stepped into the park, we saw pumpkins everywhere. It was decked out in all things Fall. They really go all out for Halloween, and it’s so fun- from the food to the music to the scenery, totally puts you in the autumn mood. Luckily it was breezy out which is the perfect weather for a spooky event and rare in Florida in August lol.
When we walked in, we got a trick-or-treating bag and the new peanut butter mega M&Ms that they were handing out. Have you tried them? If not, they are so good…and worked out great for my blood sugar all night lol.
First things first, we had to try some of the special food available just for the party. At Pinocchio’s Villaige Haus, they seemed to have a spicy theme going on. We tried the Spicy Meatball Arrabbiata Flatbread was amazing, a complete 10/10 for me—perfect amount of cheese, sauce, and flatbread with just the right amount of kick. The meatballs were cooked really well too. The Sweet and Spicy Chicken Strips were another favorite, again 10/10. They had the perfect amount of crunch and were hard to put down. Next up was Cosmic Ray’s. The Halloween Pot Roast Sandwich looked kinda gross, but it was pretty tasty. The Thai burger ehhh, not so much. It tasted plain…the flavors went together but it wasn’t wasn’t enough of each. Lastly, we were dying to try the cones at Storybook Treats. They had Ugly Stepsisters Cones- one for each sister. We tried the Anastasia cone which was a bit of a letdown for us. The concept was fun, but it was messy! The cone was drizzled in melted lemon curd which turned out to be sticky chaos. Tasted good though, so 6/10.
After the taste testing, we decided to hit up some of the new attractions. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure was adorable, and I personally like it much better than Splash Mountain. Maybe it’s the food that’s involved in the concept 😉 Tron was so fun at night and perfect for Halloween. One of best rides of the night was Space Mountain—it had been transformed for Halloween, with the lights turned off completely, which is disorienting but a ton of fun.
Of course, no Halloween party would be complete without tons of candy, and we certainly didn’t hold back. Hayley and I filled our bags to the brim with all kinds of sweets—it was like being in trick-or-treat heaven!
We also took the time to check out all the merch…and okay we got a few things. We both got shirts, bought my sister a backpack, and I got a Hocus Pocus fan that will show up in my Not So Scary Part 2 recap.
Speaking of which, we can’t wait for our second trip later this season. We have so much more planned! We need to check out the parade and shows, try a few sweet treats, and of course get more candy. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween continues to be 10/10 for the Camps!
