Vanilla Frosting

Here is a classic vanilla frosting that you can tint to match any theme!


  • 2 sticks of butter, softened- I use one salted and one unsalted. If you prefer to use unsalted, add in a pinch of salt, to taste.

  • 4 cups of powdered sugar

  • 2-3 tbsp of heavy cream

  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract



  1. In a mixing bowl, beat the butter until smooth. If you have a standing mixer, use the paddle attachment. Otherwise, use a hand mixer.

  2. Beat in half of the powdered sugar. Mix until smooth. Add in the heavy cream, vanilla, extract and the rest of the sugar. 

  3. Mix until smooth and fully combined.
