Poke cakes are so easy and so light…not overly sweet and so simple to customize. This one is chocolate cookies and cream which is such a classic flavor. Swap out the cake mix, pudding, or topping based on the theme or holiday!
Chocolate Cake mix + the ingredients listed on the box
Chocolate pudding mix (3.4 oz) + the ingredients listed on the box
1 1/2 c heavy whipping cream
1/4 c powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1/3–1/2 c Oreos, finely crushed like crumbs
Hershey’s Cookies n Creme bars, optional
Extra Oreo crumbs, optional
Instructions
Prepare and bake the cake according to the package instructions.
While it’s still warm, poke holes throughout the cake. I used a straw for mine.
Make the pudding mix according to the package instructions, and pour it on top of the cake before it sets. Using a spatula to spread it in the holes and throughout the cake.
Let it set until it’s no longer warm, then move it to the fridge for 2-3 hours.
After it’s set, prepare the whipped cream. Beat the heavy cream until you see bubbles. Add in the powdered sugar, vanilla, and oreo crumbs. Beat it until stiff peaks form.
Spread the whipped cream onto the cake and top it with Oreo crumbs and Hershey’s Bar pieces (optional.)
