EQUIPMENT

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line the baking sheet with parchment paper. Spray with baking spray as well so that it doesn’t stick to the sides.
  2. Prepare the cake mix as directed on the box. Pour it carefully onto the sheet, spreading it to the edges.
  3. Bake for 10-11 minutes or until lightly golden brown. Let cool completely and then move to the fridge for at least an hour.
  4. Meanwhile, in a mixing bowl, beat the butter until smooth. Add in half of the powdered sugar and mix. Add in the rest of the sugar, cream, vanilla, and cherry blossom powder. Mix until smooth. Place the frosting into a piping bag fitted with a round tip. Only place enough frosting in the bag so that it’s still easy to hold.
  5. Using one of the push pop holders, press lightly into the cake twisting until it comes out into the holder. Use the plunger to remove it, or pop it out with the palm of your hand. Repeat with the rest of the cake.
  6. Pick up an assembled push pop holder and push one piece of cake to the bottom. Pipe a swirl of frosting on top, and then a layer of sprinkles. Repeat twice more and add the “wafer sprinkles” at the top.
  7. Close them each with a lid and place them into the push pop holder.
  8. Repeat until all of the cake is gone!

Notes

If you have leftover frosting, store it in the fridge until you’re ready to use it for something else!
