PrintI don’t care what anyone says, I am not embarrassed to say that I LOVE candy corn I love the mellowcreme pumpkins too, all of it. So if you’re tossing any, send them my way! Whether or not you’re a fan, you’ll flip over these Candy Corn Rice Krispies Treats. They’re a fun holiday twist on classic Rice Krispies Treats…candy corn optional. Aside from the bright, fun colors, they’re filled with candy corn marshmallows! I know what you’re thinking…you just said I could leave the candy corn out. You’re in luck because these marshmallows just taste sweet. Like more marshmallowy marshmallows. My sister taste-tested these and absolutely loved them, so I got a stamp of approval. And a quick note, these Krispies don’t have an orange flavor. They taste just like the regular ones. It’s all about the seasonal aesthetic over there at Kelloggs.
To make these treats, you’ll need a 13 x 9 pan prepped and ready. Spray it generously with cooking spray and set it aside. The trick to making these treats is all in the marshmallow-butter mixture, which will give the Rice Krispies their gooey texture. Begin by melting half a stick of salted butter in a large pot over medium-low heat. Once the butter melts, add one whole bag of candy corn marshmallows, stirring constantly to prevent the marshmallows from burning.
Once the marshmallows are fully melted and smooth, take the pot off the heat and stir in the 6 cups of orange Rice Krispies. Be sure to work quickly here, mixing until everything is evenly coated in that buttery, marshmallow goodness. The orange color makes these treats visually fun, but as mentioned earlier, they’ll taste just like the traditional version, making them a crowd-pleaser for everyone. Well everyone that likes Rice Krispies treats, that is.
Now for the fun part! Once the Rice Krispies are fully combined, it’s time to add a little extra magic. Stir in ½ cup of white chocolate chips, ½ cup of candy corn (chop them smaller if you’d like), and ½ cup of candy corn marshmallows. These add-ins give the treats a sweet and crunchy texture that elevates the classic recipe. Mix everything together until just combined, and be careful not to overmix, as the heat can melt the chocolate chips.
Once your mixture is ready, transfer it to the prepared pan. Lightly press it into an even layer, but don’t pack it down too tightly—you want these treats to remain light and chewy. Let them set at room temperature for at least an hour. This gives the marshmallow mixture time to firm up so you can easily cut them into squares.
After they’ve set, simply cut them into your preferred size and enjoy! These Candy Corn Rice Krispies treats are perfect for all of your Halloween activities this season! Can’t wait to hear what you think 🙂
