Hey! I'm Taryn. Welcome to our blog. I cant wait to sprinkle a little fun into your kitchen with you!
These Campfire Hot Cocoa Cookies bring all the best parts of a cool evening by the fire into one easy bake. With chocolate chip cookie dough as the base, they’re loaded with graham cracker crunch, Nestlé hot cocoa and marshmallow morsels, and extra mini marshmallow bits for that classic campfire flavor combo. They’re fun, comforting, and perfect for nights when you want something sweet that feels a little special without a lot of effort.

Can I use regular mini marshmallows instead of marshmallow bits?
It’s not recommended. Regular marshmallows melt, spread, and disappear into the dough, while marshmallow bits stay intact and give you those little sweet pops in every cookie.
Do I need to chill the dough before baking?
No chilling is needed when using cookie mix. You can scoop and bake right away, which keeps this recipe fast and fuss-free.
Should I crush the graham crackers into crumbs or chunks?
Aim for small chunks, not fine crumbs. A rough crush gives better texture and keeps the cookies tasting like real s’mores instead of just adding dryness.

Can I make these ahead of time?
Yes. Bake and cool the cookies completely, then store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days.
Can I freeze the dough or baked cookies?
Both work well. Scoop dough balls and freeze until solid, then bake straight from frozen adding 1–2 minutes to the bake time. Baked cookies can also be frozen and thawed at room temperature.
Do the marshmallow bits melt during baking?
No. Marshmallow bits are dehydrated and designed to hold their shape, so you’ll still see and taste them after baking.
Can I use a different cookie mix flavor?
Yes. Chocolate, dark chocolate, or even sugar cookie mix work great if you want to switch up the base while keeping the same campfire flavor combo.
How do I keep the cookies soft?
Slightly underbake them so the centers look soft when you pull them from the oven. They’ll finish setting as they cool and stay tender instead of crisp.

Bake up a batch of Campfire Hot Cocoa Cookies, then grab a blanket and enjoy them by a fire inside or out on a cool night. They’re perfect for backyard fire pits, fireplace movie nights, or just pretending you’re camping from the couch with a mug of hot cocoa in hand.
