I was recently invited to a special National Tequila Day celebration at Solita Tacos & Margaritas in downtown Orlando, and it felt like the perfect excuse for a midweek night out. My sister came with me, and from the moment we stepped inside, we knew it was going to be a fun evening. The restaurant has that trendy-but-cozy vibe—low lighting, modern décor, and just the right size to feel lively without being overwhelming. The staff greeted us with big smiles, and before we even made it to our table, we had already taken a turn in the photo booth for a few keepsake shots.
Since it was a hosted event, everything for the night was complimentary, which meant we could sample freely. We started with a round of drinks—sangria, a few margaritas, and the surprise standout of the night: Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre’s new gin line. Smooth, bright, and refreshing, it was one of those drinks that makes you pause mid-sip just to appreciate how good it is.
While we sipped, we snacked on chips with fresh green salsa that tasted like it had just been blended in the kitchen. Then the passed appetizers started making the rounds—mini chicken tacos, shrimp skewers (my personal favorite), pineapple ceviche salsa, and a colorful beet salad. Every bite felt like a more elevated take on Mexican flavors, with fresh ingredients and thoughtful presentation.
We couldn’t skip dessert, especially with choices like these:
By the end of the night, the place had that “everyone’s having a good time” energy—locals chatting with the bartenders, friends sharing tacos, and music keeping the whole room in a light, happy rhythm. Solita feels like the kind of spot you visit once and then add to your mental list of go-tos. Between the great food, the drinks, and the welcoming atmosphere, I’d definitely come back the next time I’m downtown.
