This New ZOA Flavor Tastes Like Summer

We all know that I am a huge fan of limited-edition flavors, and summer is arriving full force with seasonal releases. ZOA Energy just launched its new limited-edition Shave Ice flavor, and it is GOOD. It tastes like sweet blue raspberry shaved ice from a beach boardwalk stand, but with the crisp, icy finish of an energy drink. I followed the mocktail trend this season and turned it into a drink that you’ll flip over.

If you have not tried ZOA before, the brand was co-founded by Dwayne Johnson and focuses on a more balanced energy drink experience. The drinks include plant-based caffeine, electrolytes, and vitamins B and C, but the flavors are what really stand out. They’re fun and genuinely tasty.

The lineup already includes Tropical Punch, Mango Splash, Frosted Grape, and White Peach, but this new Shave Ice flavor feels perfect for summer. According to the brand, the flavor was inspired by traditional Hawaiian shave ice and is part of a larger summer refresh for ZOA.

This is one of the best energy drink flavors I have tried, and I love that it has such a strong summer feel. It definitely leans sweeter, which I personally loved, and it fully commits to the blue raspberry flavor instead of watering it down. It tastes more like a fun frozen treat than a typical energy drink.

Boardwalk Shaved Ice Mocktail

I used the drink to create a fizzy summer mocktail that honestly tasted like something from a beachside snack stand.

Here’s what I used:
• 1 ZOA Shave Ice Energy Drink
• 1/3 cup club soda
• 1/2 ounce grenadine
• Cotton candy cold foam
• Optional garnish: maraschino cherries

I filled a glass with shaved ice, poured in the ZOA and club soda, stirred in the grenadine, then topped it with cotton candy cold foam and cherries.

It was ridiculously good. The blue raspberry flavor mixed with the grenadine created a sweet-tart combo that tasted like a sparkling frozen drink. The cotton candy foam added a creamy finish that made it feel even more fun without becoming too heavy.

Plus, it’s just so pretty.

I highly recommend this new flavor. Most of all, I love that it feels fun. Not every energy drink needs to taste ultra-serious or workout-focused. This feels more like something you would grab before heading to the beach, going on a road trip, or spending a long summer day outside.
