Layered dessert jars packed with candy mix-ins, creamy fillings, and the most fun flavor combos
I love to go on grocery store trips and search for limited edition snacks. That’s exactly how I found Jar Joy. To be honest, I had no idea what to expect.
They’re clear, layered dessert jars filled with cake, cookie dough, mousse, and candy mix-ins, all stacked so you can see every layer. It’s one of those desserts that looks great but…you never know.
Jar Joy focuses on single-serve, spoonable desserts in a grab-and-go format. No prep, no slicing, no sharing. They’ve been popping up at stores like Publix and ShopRite, and if you’re into cookie dough, cheesecake, or candy-inspired desserts, you’ve probably spotted them.
I picked up three flavors to try, and they each brought something different.

This one layers a chocolate cake base with real Snickers pieces, a thick chocolate cookie dough layer mixed with more candy chunks, and finishes with chopped peanuts and caramel on top.
It’s basically a Snickers bar turned into a layered dessert. This was the first one I tried, and it immediately set the bar high. I’d give it a 9 out of 10.
It really does taste like a Snickers, just in spoonable form. You get chocolate, caramel, peanuts, and that chewy candy texture all in one bite.
The texture is what makes it stand out. The base is soft and almost mousse-like, the cookie dough layer is creamy, and the candy pieces add just enough bite to keep it interesting. If you’re a chocolate-caramel person, this one is an easy pick.

This jar starts with a chocolate chip cookie crumble base mixed with M&M’S Minis, followed by a thick cookie dough layer, and finished with whipped cream and more candy on top.
This one is very fun visually. The colorful candy pieces make it feel playful right away.
I’d give this one a 8 out of 10. It’s good, definitely sweet, and the texture is still great. The cookie crumble and candy give it a nice mix of soft and crunchy.
For me, it just didn’t have the same bold flavor as the Snickers version. I wanted the cookie dough flavor to come through a little stronger. If you like classic cookie dough desserts with a candy twist, you’ll still enjoy it. It’s absolutely delicious. It just didn’t stand out as much as the others.

This one has a graham cracker base, a creamy cheesecake mousse layer, and real raspberry preserves layered throughout, with a hint of white chocolate. This is a full 10 out of 10.
It tastes exactly like raspberry cheesecake. The graham base gives you that familiar pie crust texture, the cheesecake layer is smooth and rich, and the raspberry adds just the right amount of tartness.
The preserves taste real, not artificial, which makes a big difference. Every bite has that sweet and slightly tangy balance that makes cheesecake so good. If you’re only trying one, this is the one I’d start with.
Okay fine, try all 3, but if you HAD to pick one this one is fantastic.
One of the best parts of Jar Joy is the format itself.
Each jar is layered, so instead of one single texture, you’re getting:
Every spoonful is a little different depending on how you scoop.
The portion size also feels right. They’re overly heavy or something you have to save for later.
These are the kind of treats that work for:
Right now, Jar Joy is popping up in the refrigerated dessert section at stores like Publix and ShopRite.
If you see them, they’re worth trying. Go with Raspberry Cheesecake if you want something classic, Snickers if you want something rich and layered, or M&M’S if you’re in the mood for a more playful dessert.
Jar Joy is one of those grocery store finds that fuels my hobby of looking for limited edition snacks. The textures are layered, the flavors are creative, and the concept is right up my alley. I highly recommend them!
Grab a couple different flavors and do a mini taste test at home. Try a few bites of each and pick your favorite. It turns a simple dessert into something a little more interactive and fun.
