Hey! I'm Taryn. Welcome to our blog. I cant wait to sprinkle a little fun into your kitchen with you!
These Be Mine Confetti Heart Cakes are such a fun way to surprise your Valentine. They start with a Valentine’s funfetti cake mix, bake up perfectly in heart-shaped pans, and get topped with fluffy pink frosting, sprinkles, and a candy-filled border. They pretty much say “be mine” all on their own.

How full should I fill the heart pans?
Fill each heart pan about halfway. This keeps the cakes from overflowing and helps them bake evenly while keeping a clean heart shape.
How long do these heart cakes take to bake?
Start with the cupcake baking time listed on your cake mix box. Check for doneness, then add 2 to 3 minutes at a time until the tops are lightly golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
Can I make these ahead of time?
Yes. These cakes can be baked and decorated a day ahead. Keep the lids on the pans or store them covered in the fridge until you’re ready to serve or hand them out.

Do I have to use Valentine’s Funfetti cake mix?
No. Any funfetti or white cake mix works. The Valentine’s version just adds seasonal color and sprinkles.
Can I use store-bought frosting instead of homemade?
Yes. Store-bought vanilla frosting works fine. Whipping it with a little heavy cream will give it a fluffier texture if you want a homemade feel without extra effort.
Do these need to be refrigerated?
Because of the buttercream, it’s best to refrigerate them if storing longer than a few hours. Let them sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes before serving.
Can I freeze these cakes?
Yes. Freeze the unfrosted cakes tightly wrapped for up to one month. Thaw completely before frosting and decorating.

These are perfect for a low-key Galentine’s night with friends. Make and decorate the cakes ahead of time, then set them out while you watch the Parks and Recreation Galentine’s Day episode together. Keep it simple, cozy, and fun. When it’s time to head home, hand each friend a heart cake to take with them- a very Leslie Knope–approved ending to the night.
