Hey! I'm Taryn. Welcome to our blog. I cant wait to sprinkle a little fun into your kitchen with you!
The Gobble Gobble Cookie Skillet is everything fun about Thanksgiving wrapped into one warm dessert. You get layers of pumpkin cookie dough, sugar cookie dough, and those adorable turkey-shaped cookies all baked together until gooey in the center and golden on the edges. Serve it right at the table and watch everyone lean in for a scoop—it’s the sweet finish to a holiday filled with family, food, and fun.

Do I need to grease the skillet? If your skillet is well-seasoned cast iron or nonstick, you don’t need to grease it. The cookie dough has plenty of fat and releases easily. If you’re worried about sticking, a light mist of nonstick spray is totally fine.
Can I swap the cookie dough flavors?
Yes—any roll or tube of refrigerated cookie dough works. The pumpkin and sugar cookie combo gives the best Thanksgiving flavor and color contrast, but chocolate chip or snickerdoodle will still bake the same.
How do I know when the skillet is done?
You want golden edges and a soft center. The middle should look slightly underbaked—that’s how you get the gooey, scoopable texture. Pull it from the oven as soon as the edges set.

Can I make this ahead of time?
You can prep the skillet with the dough layers and turkey cookies up to 24 hours in advance. Cover and refrigerate. Bake right before serving so it stays warm and gooey.
What if I don’t have a 12-inch skillet?
A 10-inch skillet works but may need an extra 3–5 minutes of baking time.
Can I use homemade cookie dough instead of store-bought?
Absolutely. Just make sure the dough is chilled and use the same amount you would with a store-bought roll so the skillet doesn’t overflow while baking.
Can I use different character cookies?
Yes! Any seasonal Pillsbury Shape Sugar Cookies work. For Thanksgiving week, the turkey shapes are perfect, but other holiday shapes bake exactly the same.
What type of ice cream works best on top?
Vanilla is classic, but cinnamon, pumpkin, or butter pecan ice cream melt beautifully into the warm cookie skillet for even more fall flavor.

Make this right after Thanksgiving dinner and let everyone grab a scoop as they finish their meal. It becomes a sweet little tradition—turkey-shaped cookies on top, ice cream melting into the warm skillet, and everyone going back for “just one more bite” while the table is still full of laughter.
