This year, my daughter Hayley, my sister Kelly, her daughter Rose, and I decided to take a local holiday trip to explore the Christmas decorations at a few of the Disney hotels on the Skyliner route. From gingerbread macarons to tree photo-ops, we had a super fun day filled with surprises, treats, and a little bit of adventure!
We started our adventure at Disney’s Beach Club, and wow, it did not disappoint! The lobby was transformed with a gorgeous gingerbread carousel that looked (and smelled) incredible. To sweeten the visit, there was a treats counter filled with festive goodies. Hayley and I couldn’t resist the gingerbread macarons—they were almost too cute to eat! But when we did, they turned out to be absolutely delicious, far exceeding our expectations.
Next, we strolled over to Disney’s Yacht Club. The Christmas tree in the lobby was amazing, with its nautical-themed ornaments shining in the bright holiday lights. What really caught our attention, though, was the Disney holiday train display. The attention to detail was incredible, and it felt like stepping into a miniature winter wonderland.
After soaking in the Yacht and Beach Club’s Christmas fun, we hopped on the Skyliner. One of the highlights of the day was seeing which themed gondola we’d get—part of the magic of Disney transportation.
By the time we reached Pop Century, we were ready for lunch. Unfortunately, my salad was a total disappointment. But the real drama unfolded during our taste test of their seasonal treats. The PB&J croissant sounded amazing and looked cool, but one bite revealed we were so so wrong. The filling was overwhelming, and the “jelly” was more like overly sweet chocolate dip—it just didn’t work. Next, we tried a winter-themed cupcake, which was cold, bland, and not even the kids wanted it. Let’s just say Pop Century’s treats weren’t the stars of the day.
Our final hotel stop was Disney’s Art of Animation, so we could try to snap one last Christmas tree photo. Each tree had a was decorated perfectly for the theme of the hotel. We definitely had a blast! Kelly and Rose decided to head home after this, but Hayley and I weren’t ready to call it a day.
With time to spare, Hayley and I headed over to Epcot. The Cookie Stroll was in full swing, offering a ton of holiday treats to try. We opted for the Frozen Hot Chocolate and the Winter Toffee, and they were phenomenal! The hot chocolate was ice cold and chocolatey, while the toffee had the perfect balance of crunch and sweetness.
From the beautiful decorations to the holiday desserts (minus a few flops), this trip was a Christmas adventure we won’t forget.
If you live in the area, we highly recommend hopping on the Skyliner and exploring the Disney hotels. Just maybe skip the PB&J croissant at Pop Century! 🎄✨
