Press about two-thirds of the cookie dough evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan.
In a medium bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add the pumpkin purée, brown sugar, pumpkin pie spice, vanilla, and salt. Mix until the filling is creamy and well blended.
Spread the pumpkin cream cheese mixture over the cookie dough base. Crumble the remaining dough evenly over the top.
Bake for 28 to 32 minutes, or until the top is set and lightly golden.
Let the bars cool completely before slicing. For a finishing touch, dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with melted white chocolate.
