Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heat-treated all-purpose flour, sifted
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons milk (any kind)
  • 1/3 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup rainbow sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Before starting, heat-treat the flour by microwaving it in a heat-safe bowl for about 1 minute, stirring every 15 seconds, or by baking it at 350°F (175°C) for 5 minutes. Let it cool completely before using. (This kills any bacteria and makes it safe to eat raw.)
  2. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and brown sugar together until light and fluffy, about 1–2 minutes.
  3. Mix in the vanilla extract and salt until combined.
  4. Gradually mix in the heat-treated flour. The dough will be thick and crumbly at this point.
  5. Pour in the milk and stir until the dough comes together into a smooth, soft consistency.
  6. Gently fold in the mini chocolate chips and rainbow sprinkles until evenly distributed.
  7. Scoop the edible cookie dough into small cups or bowls. Garnish with a few extra sprinkles or chocolate chips if you want extra color and crunch.
  8. Keep the cookie dough refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 5 days. Let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes before eating for the softest texture.
