Instructions
In a pan over medium heat, combine shredded chicken, BBQ sauce, brown sugar, and garlic powder. Stir until heated through and saucy.
In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour to form a roux, cooking for about 1 minute. Gradually add milk, whisking until smooth. Stir in cheese until melted and creamy. Add cooked macaroni and mix well. Season with salt and pepper.
Slice the brioche buns and toast lightly if desired. Spoon BBQ chicken onto the bottom bun, add a scoop of mac & cheese, then sprinkle with crispy fried onions. Add any extras (pickles, mayo, etc.), top with the bun, and press gently.
Serve immediately while the mac is melty and the onions are crisp!
