Golden Garlic Parmesan Broccoli Gratin

  • 4 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen, thawed)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 cup milk or half-and-half
  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • ¼ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and grease a small baking dish.
  2. Steam broccoli 2–3 minutes until bright green; set aside.
  3. In a saucepan, melt butter, stir in flour, and cook for 1 minute. Slowly whisk in milk, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  4. Cook until thickened, then stir in half the parmesan.
  5. Arrange broccoli in the dish and pour sauce over it.
  6. Combine breadcrumbs, olive oil, and remaining parmesan. Sprinkle on top.
  7. Bake 15–20 minutes, until bubbly and golden.
