Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ cup finely grated parmesan cheese
  • Salt, to taste
  • 12 oz Christmas-shaped pasta (tree, snowflake, or holiday mix — you used this variety: https://amzn.to/3MuWrCQ)
  • Extra parmesan, for garnish “snow”

Want extra sauce?

Double the sauce ingredients (butter, garlic powder, milk, parmesan, and salt) for an ultra-creamy, generously coated pasta.

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  2. Cook the Christmas-shaped pasta according to package directions until al dente.
  3. Reserve ¼ cup of the pasta water, then drain and set pasta aside.
  4. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter until smooth and gently bubbling.
Stir in garlic powder and milk. Heat until the mixture reaches a gentle simmer (do not boil).
  5. Gradually add the parmesan, stirring constantly until fully melted and the sauce becomes smooth and creamy.
  6. If the sauce feels too thick, stir in a splash of the reserved pasta water until it coats a spoon easily.
  7. Season with salt to taste.
  8. Add cooked pasta directly to the saucepan and toss until every piece is coated in the Snowflake Sauce.
  9. Finish with a generous dusting of parmesan “snow” right before serving.
