For the Cupcakes:
- 1 box almond cake mix
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 3 large eggs
- ½ cup vegetable oil
For the Chocolate Almond Truffle Frosting:
- 1 cup (2 sticks) salted butter, softened
- ½ cup mascarpone or cream cheese, softened
- 2½ cups powdered sugar
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ tsp almond extract
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2–4 tbsp heavy cream
- 2 tbsp Nutella
