Caramel Kettle Apple Butter

Ingredients

  • 6 pounds peeled, cored, and sliced apples. You can use store bought pre sliced apples to skip prep.
  • 2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Add the apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg to your slow cooker. Stir to coat.
  2. Cover and cook on low for 10 hours, stirring every couple of hours.
  3. Uncover. Add the vanilla extract. Blend with an immersion blender until smooth and glossy.
  4. Let it continue to cook uncovered for 30 to 60 minutes if you want a thicker consistency.
  5. Cool and transfer to jars or airtight containers. Store in the refrigerator.

Serving ideas

  • Spread on warm biscuits, swirl into yogurt or oatmeal, spoon over vanilla ice cream, or use as a dip for pretzels.
